DIVINE SAO SCHLUMBERGER.

Back in the late eighties, I was Mrs. Denise Barry de Longchamps' assistant at Yves-Saint Laurent's haute-couture salon. Among a prestigious clientele, we had the great privilege to take care of Sao Schlumberger's orders for her haute-couture wardrobe. The Fall 1988 yellow jacket with Lesage embroidered grapes  was one of her orders. We knew she was already ill with Alzheimer, but she carried herself with such elegance during Monsieur Jean-Pierre Derbord's fittings , she made us forget about it...

Hélène Rochas Apartment.

“You need less rather than more to be elegant now."

Hélène Rochas
 1927 - 2011

"Hélène Rochas was the widow of courtier Marcel Rochas of the venerable fashion house Rochas.  Hélène met the twice divorced Marcel in the metro and became his wife at the age of 18.  The couture house was closed in 1953 but after Marcel’s death in 1955, Hélène Rochas took over the perfume business and created an empire. She was known for her great beauty and lavish parties that she threw in her apartment in a hôtel particulier in the 7th arrondissement."
